ABOUT MEPercussionist - EducatorI am an Austin-based percussionist and educator that prioritizes musicianship and meaningful relationships. As a performer, I am part of the Austin Percussion Collective, Central Texas Philharmonic, and Irish band Wolf & Clover. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of classical percussion repertoire and expanding my curriculum to include world music styles while pursuing my own passion in repertoire for the speaking percussionist.
Before I moved to Texas for my DMA, I received my bachelor's in music education in 2019 and my master's in music performance in 2021 from Columbus State University. While in attendance at CSU, I played in the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and LaGrange Symphony Orchestra as a substitute section member on multiple occasions. I was also involved in musical theater productions at the Springer Opera House such as Cinderella and Singin' in the Rain, and CSU's production of Fiddler on the Roof. I have just recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with my DMA, and I am currently part-time percussion faculty at Georgia College and State University. My responsibilities at GCSU include teaching Percussion Methods, The History of Rock and Roll, percussion ensemble, private lessons for majors and non-majors. |
